About Me
A bit about me
Hi I’m Sam, a Registered Homeopath and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist.
I live in the beautiful Great Southern region of Western Australia, somewhere near the coast between Albany and Denmark. I love the great outdoors, and fill my spare time catching up with friends and family, being out in the garden, walking at the beach or in the bush. I have a thirst for knowledge and you may often find me reading a book or three from the stack of homeopathic and other health books I have accumulated over the years.
I have had a long interest in natural therapies since being introduced to homeopathy in my early 20’s.
I graduated as a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist in 2017 and more recently as a Homeopath.
“It's far more important to know what person the disease has than what disease the person has. ” ~Hippocrates
Homeopathy
What is homeopathy?
Homeopathy was developed by Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician, over 200 years ago. It is a holistic, natural approach, that stimulates the body's own innate healing ability and is tailored specifically to the individual.
Homeopathy is based on the principles of -
“The Law of Similars” or “like cures like” - a substance that triggers a certain disease can also be used to treat that disease.
The individualisation of the case - it views each person as a unique individual and looks at the “whole person” not just their physical symptoms. It also takes into account their mind, spirit and emotions as well as looking at any causative factors.
The principle of the minimum dose - using the minimum dose of a homeopathic remedy required to produce a therapeutic effect.
“The Highest ideal of cure is the rapid, gentle, and permanent restoration of health;” ~Samuel Hahnemann
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy
What is Biodynamic Craniosacral therapy?
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a gentle and non invasive form of bodywork that uses light touch to assist the body to return to its own intrinsic health.
BCST is based on the work of the late Osteopathic Physician Dr William Garner Sutherland. In the 1800’s Dr Sutherland developed an approach to Osteopathy known as “The Cranial Concept”. It is from these original concepts and teachings, combined with a Western scientific understanding of the body, that the work has been refined and extended to become what we know of today as Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy.
Our bodies can be shaped by life experience, physical injuries, illness, birth trauma and emotional pain. These, and other experiences, may at times cause held patterns within our bodies. BCST can help the body to feel safe and supported. When we feel safe and supported our brains are able to easier switch from fight and flight to rest and repair. It is in this state where real healing and change can begin to take place.

Flower Essences
Flower Essences
Throughout history many cultures have used the healing power of plants and flowers to enhance health and spiritual development. Flower Essences are made from the real flowers of wild plants. They are highly diluted extracts that capture the particular flowers unique healing qualities.
Flower essences have a long and rich history dating back thousands of years with evidence suggesting their use in Ancient Egypt, Sumeria and China. Many Indigenous cultures worldwide including Native Americans and Australian Aboriginals use flowers for emotional and physical healing. The earliest recorded European use was by abbess Hildegard von Bingen in the 12th century, making flower essences one of the oldest natural therapies.
Modern flower essence ranges that many of us may be familiar with are the Bach Flower Essences and the Australian Bush Flower Essences.
Bach Flower Essences - a range of 38 Flower essences that were created by Edward Bach, a British physician, in the 1930s. According to Bach, the energy of flowers can balance your emotions. He believed that this can bring about mental, physical, and spiritual wellness.
Australian Bush Flower Essences (ABFE) - founded by Ian White in 1987, a fifth-generation Australian herbalist. Ian developed a deep connection with nature while growing up in Australia and has spent many years studying and researching the remarkable therapeutic properties of Australian Bush flowers, including their healing qualities and ability to restore balance.
HTMA
Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis
What is Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis?
A Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) is a safe, non-invasive pathology test that measures the mineral composition of your hair tissue. It can be used to evaluate toxic metal accumulation and to check essential nutrient balances, providing valuable heath information. It is regarded by many as an effective screening tool for use in everyday and preventable health care.
Once a hair sample is collected it is sent to InterClinical Laboratories where they can provide clinical data on more than 36 nutrients and toxic minerals and 27 significant mineral ratios.
What is tested for?
Nutritional Elements - Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium, Potassium, Copper, Zinc, Phosphorus, Boron, Iron, Manganese, Chromium, Selenium, Cobalt, Molybdenum, Sulphur
Additional Elements - Germanium, Barium, Bismuth, Rubidium, Lithium, Nickel, Platinum, Thallium, Vanadium, Strontium, Tin, Titanium, Tungsten, Zirconium
Toxic Elements - Uranium, Arsenic, Beryllium, Mercury, Cadmium, Lead, Aluminium
How much hair do you need?
The laboratory requires approximately one loose tablespoon of hair for testing (0.25gm) taken from the back of the head as close to the scalp as possible and not longer than 4cm in length. The hair should be clean, well rinsed, untreated and uncoloured and a sample taken using clean, stainless steel scissors.
